DATE OF ACTUAL COMPETITION:

OFFICIAL OPENING:
Thursday March 8th 2012 from 6pm in the fishing competition enclosure at DAYMAN PARK.
NOTE: Entries must be submitted and paid for by 6pm Thursday March 8th 2012 to be eligible for the official opening draw.
10 Adult entry numbers will be drawn daily. The winner of $1000.00 will be the last number drawn on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and 2nd last number drawn
on Sunday.
5 Junior entry numbers will be drawn daily. The winner of the major prize will be the last number drawn. (See Major Draw Rules No.14)
ENTRY FEE:
Seniors $30 per person
Juniors $10 per person
Entrants must also attach a recent passport size identification photograph which is to be clipped to the application form, together with the fee.
Entries will not be confirmed unless a recent passport size photograph, fee, and application form are posted or presented all together.
Application forms not correctly filled out will render the entrants ineligible for the draw to determine the winner of the new boat or computer.
NOTE: SYNDICATES ARE NOT RECOGNISED. NO ALCOHOL TO BE BROUGHT INTO THE COMPOUND.
GATES CLOSED: Thursday, Friday, Saturday AT 10.00pm Sunday 6.00pm.
COMPETITION STARTS: 6pm on Thursday March 8th 2012.
ENTRIES CLOSE: 6pm on Saturday March 10th 2012.
COMPETITION FINISH: Anyone not in the queue at the official 'Weigh-In Stage' with a fish to be weighed at 12 noon Sunday March 11th 2012 will be
deemed ineligible to be weighed in and therefore outside the official finish time.
WEIGH-IN TIMES:
DEAD Daily weigh-ins will be conducted from 4pm 6pm Friday, Saturday, and 10am l2 Noon Sunday. No more than one fish of each of the eligible species to be
weighed in by each entrant at each weigh in on any day. One species for each entry number each day can be weighed.
WEIGH-IN TIMES:
LIVE Daily weigh-ins 8.30am to10.30am and 1.30pm to 3.30pm Friday and Saturday, Sunday 8.30 to 9.30am
NOTE: Any fish deemed to be more than 24 hours since being caught, in the opinion of the judge's reading of the Tory meter will be ineligible to be recorded for
cash or prizes. (The judge's opinion is final and no discussion will be entered into).
FISH: All fish DEAD weighed in must be cleaned, gilled and gutted, but not be scaled, and be of legal size. Fish may be donated to the club for local charities.
PROFESSIONALS: All professional fishermen are eligible to enter the competition provided they abide by the same rules as amateur entrants and do not have
a professional net in their possession one-week prior to and during the competition.
FRAUD: Any evidence of fraud such as fish more than 24 hours since being caught, foreign matter pushed down the mouth of the fish, fish transported from
other than the shores or offshore waters of Hervey Bay and Fraser Island, more than one person fishing for each individual $30 adult entry or $10 junior, netted fish, or
any action in defiance of the rules and goodwill of the competition, will be placed in the hands of the police in attendance. The competition organisers reserve the right
of absolute disqualification in the event of specified breaches of rules occurring.
CANCELLATIONS: All nominees will receive a full refund of entry fee in the event of cancellation of the whole competition due to weather or any other reason.
OTHER RULES:
- Fish weighed in may be donated to the organising club for distribution to local charities.
- All fish eligible for weigh-in must be weighed within 24 hours of being caught; between when the fish is caught and when it is weighed, it may have been iced
down but not frozen.
- All fish must be weighed on the official scales provided by the organisers to be eligible.
- Fish weighed in must be caught from the shores of Hervey Bay or adjacent offshore waters and must conform to legal size to be eligible to weigh-in.
- Fish presented to the scales must be taken on rod and reel or hand line.
- No fish will be kept for competitors for later weigh-in.
- Management decision is final and Hervey Bay Boat Club Fishing and Social Club Inc. retain the right to withhold any cash, prizes or trophies pending investigation.
Daily Prizes must be collected by 6pm Sunday March 11th 2012 or they become the property of the organisers.
- The Management shall have the absolute right to exclude anyone from the competition without giving any reason whatsoever.
- The competitor nominated notes and acknowledges that Hervey Bay Boat Club Fishing & Social Club accepts no liability for any injury, loss or damage to any
person or property in the course of excursion and the competition generally when such injury or loss is due, or alleged to be due to any act, neglect or default on the
part of Hervey Bay Boat Club Fishing & Social Club or any official or agency thereof. All competitors fully understand that in so participating they do so entirely
at their own risk and agree to abide by all rules and regulations.
- No more than THREE prizes will be awarded in respect of any one fish caught.
- The management reserves the right to postpone the fishing time prior to or during the competition for any section or trophy category.
- Any action, incident, or situation not covered by the rules and conditions written in this brochure, shall be determined Co-jointly by the Official Judge or Acting
Official Judge of the Fishing Competition and the Management Committee of the Hervey Bay Boat Club Fishing & Social Club if or when those conditions arise.
Their decision is final.
- WEIGH-IN
(a) No more than one fish of each of the eligible species and no more than one fish in the any other species section can be weighed in for each entry number
each day in the live weigh-in.
(b) No more than one fish of each of the eligible species and no more than one fish in the any other species section can be weighed in for each entry number each
day in the dead weigh-in.
- MAJOR DRAW RULES:
(a) Entries must be submitted and paid for by 6pm Thursday March 8th 2012 to be eligible for the official opening draw.
(b) There will be major draws of 10 adult entry numbers daily. The winner of $1000.00 will be the last number drawn.
(c) There will be major draws of 5 junior entry numbers daily.
(d) On each draw the entrant possessing the number announced must present himself/herself with their photograph pass within 60 seconds or another draw will
occur.
(e) Any action, incident or situation not covered by these rules shall be determined as in Rule No.12.
- SUPER DRAW RULES:
(a) All fully paid adult entrants at 6pm on Saturday March 10th 2012 will be eligible for inclusion in the Adult Super Draw Prize (a new boat).
(b) All fully paid junior entrants at 6pm on Saturday March 10th 2012 will be eligible for inclusion in the Junior Super Draw prize (a new computer).
(c) The person whose number is drawn, as winner of the Super Draw on Sunday March 11th 2012 must present himself/herself with his/her photograph pass within
60 seconds or another draw will occur.
(d) When the Adult or Junior Super Draw winner has been identified to the satisfaction of management then that entrant shall win the Adult or Junior Super Draw
Prize.
